Nights like these

Fresh canned peaches cooling on the counter (every year I actually accomplish this I feel alittle more domesticated than the year before! Before I know it, I'll be Betty Crocker/Martha Stewart..heehee..thats a good giggle!) Me sewing at the kitchen counter, working on curtains for the nursery.
Sweet hubby hard at work at the table trying to figure out the 3-d puzzle Talon got for his birthday. It was suppose to be for 7+ and I'm thinking it was more for the +...it took a 29 yr old all night to figure it out! But maybe that was partly from the Tornado attempting to help too or just old age:)We sat like this all night. One fat baby snuggled in his bed, the other little guy snuggled in on the couch watching tv. This never happens. Peace. Quiet. Time to share the little odds and ends that came to mind, but no need to chatter endlessly. When I stopped and realized what the night had become I looked forward even more to the coming fall. Early evenings when darkness cloaks us in a cozy quilt inside our homes. It was that feeling of coming in from a dark, cold night to your warm home welcoming you. Or climbing under your thick comforter, snuggling in to escape the chill. That feeling. What would you call it, how would you describe it? Contentment? Peace? Joy? Coziness above all coziness? Its so rare to have an evening like this I wanted to stop time and hold it there. I'm sure tonight we'll be back in the full swing of our usual nonstop chaos..but maybe just maybe..I'm not holding my breath though:)

Oh you make me SO ready for fall. I could just feel the comfy while reading your words!! Beautiful. THere is nothing like the feeling of "home" - and being right where you belong. Are we lucky (er...blessed) :) or what??!!!

And YOU, lady, are making me feel domestically challenged. Wow-wee! Canned peaches and those curtains! Are you sewing different colored fabrics to them?? Oh my. Awesome! I love to see your creativity.

You're getting way too much done for a mom of two! You're supposed to be a grandma before you can do all that! Love you thoughts:)
