b.l.i.s.s..perfect name in my book for a scrapbooking event:)

A of couple weekends ago...okay, wow..a month ago, I had the chance to attend the coolest, funnest scrapbooking event, appropriately called B.L.I.S.S put on by Technique Tuesday & a fav of mine miss Ali Edwards!!

My first picture with a bon a fide celebrity;) (she is a celebrity in the scrapbooking world, people. Hollywood isn't the only place producing celebrities;D) Lol..boy would she laugh at that one. She was so humble & thought it was hilarious that people even wanted their pictures taken with her. So cute. Loved her.

Who ever said scrapbooking was easy never attended this 3 day event! I was exhausted every night by the time my head hit the pillow. It was amazing though & something I am hoping I get to go back to every year!
See that concentration? Sucking the lip apparantly helps me work faster. Or maybe not. We did a million projects, most of them still sit unfinished in my to-do basket downstairs. That someday-i-will-get-to-it-basket. But one of my favorite projects we worked on I am thrilled to say made it out of that basket & now sits fully finished, hanging on my wall!
If you click on the picture you can see it up close & alittle better.

Loved this project! And just last weekend while garage saling I found a bigger house, same idea, unfinished. Hmmm...so many ideas, so many thoughts. I've already got plans for it.. a gift for someone special who I hope will love it filled with pix of their own large family!

rockabye-ing my baby

Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth, empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
hang out the washing and butter the bread, sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
..........................................................................................................
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
for children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby cause babies don't keep.

Rain, Rain...

Rain, rain go away...
Come again another day,
Little Rowey wants to play
Rain, rain go away!!
You know you live in the pacific northwest when your 1 yr old will stand at the slider door & look outside & sing this little diddy in his baby words! (Okay, to be completely honest he does only know the 1st & last line unless I'm singing with him. I just like to make him sound extra smart.) I can always tell what he's singing because him & his brother have both been blessed with the ability to carry a tune at a young age. And whenever I happen to break into that song (which lately has been quite often), he joins in & heads for the window to see if it really is raining...he's still young..still learning that he doesn't even have to check to know that yes, honey, it is still raining!

So with the thought in my head of 'you know you live in the pacific nw if...' I set out for google & found a few more that made me chuckle.
  1. You take half a day every July 1st searching for your sunglasses and sunscreen that you packed away last Sept.
  2. You get very, very happy when the early morning weather forecast includes the term "sun breaks".
  3. You never go camping without waterproof matches, ponchos and a mattress pad that can double as a floatation device.
  4. You know that people who use umbrella's are not from around here.

We are antsy in our pantsy's for the sun to shine and summer to come and make his home!!

p.s...aren't those lil baby legs just the sweetest things you've ever seen?!

5 minute dress up project

This was a last minute, little project that took maybe 5 minutes. We had a not so attractive gift certificate that was being given as a gift. We had no attractive envelope in which to give it. So I had to come up with an attractive little way to dress it up... First I dug through my scrap drawer and found some cute paper to work with.
I made an envelope with one of the pieces and folded the other piece around it.
Grabbed some ribbon to match, went through my stash of charms.....
And Voila! A much cuter, much more attractive little gift than what I started with! I really like the personal touch it adds to the gift. Thinking this will be my new way of gifting gift cards/certificates. I haven't had an ounce of craftiness coming out of me lately..just frustration looking at all the craftiness that needs to get done and having no motivation to get to it! So this was fun for me and I think it broke my crafting dryspell..I hope anyway

Jesus and a big airplane...

"I like this house Mummy" pause..... "but what about that house Jesus is building way up in the clouds? We can't drive to Fred Meyer or Target from there!"
Super concerned. Not a good thought. To live without Target?(I like this child!) Fred Meyer? the toy section?!
Suddenly a new thought crosses his mind and I watch his face change from concern to excitement. "Mummy how is Jesus going to get us? Is he coming and driving a Big Airplane?!"
Any concern is now forgotten. Jesus just scored some big time brownie points in his little mind. I didn't even have to answer the question, he went and decided that was exactly how Jesus was coming.
Oh how I love this mind!

peeping Tom

Nosy lil man.
I found him face up against the
fence
peeking through to the yard behind.
Couldn't help but laugh at this lil peeping Tom!

I cannot stop

This is Me:

This is my mundane monday list:

See the connection? Thats the problem there isn't one! I started this puzzle yesterday..I haven't done one in eons. I use to have ADD and couldn't sit long enough to finish one unless I had good conversation, then I just sat back, did the talking and let the others finish. But I am on my own on this one and I am addicted. I cannot stop. I fear my weekend is following me into today. What I am trying to say is, I don't know about the rest of you, but me, weekends & cleaning do not mix. So every Monday I have a list that spans 3 days worth of catch up cleaning. That is still the case today, but tomorrow I may just have a list 4 days long instead.
