our definition of organized chaos:

verb: an attempt at a well thought out schedule that is thwarted by unseen & unexpected events most often caused by the small creatures that have overtaken our house

The following occurred on the night of monday the 9th...

9pm: 1st attempt at rocking Fat Baby to lullaby land..no go..he wants to play & sing.

945pm: 2nd attempt & do I dare breathe? Yes! Hooray! One down, one to go.

1015pm: Storybook time with Turbo Talon

1030pm: Ahhh!! Turbo tucked in..2 down..bubblebath time for mommy!!

11pm: What are all those bumps in the night that are coming through the wall disturbing my peaceful bathtime?! I will ignore them & hope Turbo is just conquering his bedroom monsters.

1130pm: "Mommy, I don't weally think I wike going to sleep sometimes" What?! You are still not sleeping? I let Turbo snuggle in with me on the couch to finish my show..too lazy to walk him back upstairs.

1145pm: Show is finished & we hear daddy's alarm clock going off. (Yes, he works very odd hours sometimes) Turbo takes off.

1146pm: Mommy hears Daddy shouting in pain for Turbo to GET OFF ME & GET OUT!!

1147pm: FatBaby starts abawling

1148pm: 1/2 way up the stairs & suddenly I hear "TWINKLE TWINKLE WITTLE STAR! HOW I WONDER WHAT YOU AT..." & FatBaby's piano being aggresively banged on...FatBaby's screams become an octave higher

1148pm: I turn the corner & there is FatBaby's room flooded with light, he is standing in his crib blinking rapidly & sobbing, while on the floor Turbo is dancing, banging on the piano & grinning away at Baby!! Oh where oh where did I go wrong in my schedule planning?!

1149pm: My voice meets FatBaby's in octave as I yell at Turbo "OH NO YOU DID NOT!! OH NO YOU DID NOT!!" I chase him from the room & send him to his room, where he starts very loudly sobbing. Oh great..Zero down & I JUST WANT TO GO TO BED!!

1150pm: FatBaby is calmed down & I am rocking him back to lullaby land..or so I hope. Turbo is still very loudly carrying on in the room next door & Daddy's snooze button needs to be applied again. Who can sleep through all that?! I meanwhile am shaking with silent laughter thinking about the last 15 min. Is this really my life?!

Midnight: Daddy is up wondering if he just had a really bad dream. My king bed is filled with 2 boys, one on each side, pinching any skin they can find. (they are both comfort pinchers & alittle of my sanity has been robbed because of it) I am going back & forth between silent laughter & guilt(for disclipling Turbo out of frustration) as I'm slowly trying to drift off between the moments of my skin being pinched off...

We like to hear it cause we're all dealing with our own madness and on the brink of insanity with you. Hope today is a brighter day...luv ya!

I just love that you can find the humor in those kind of situations! I had a little boy like that once too who was pulling all nighters at 2 years old:( but i don't think I laughed!
